Cobh

Cobh, was known from 1850 until the end of the 1920s as Queenstown, is a tourist seaport town on the south coast of Co. Cork, Ireland. Cobh was the home to Ireland's only dedicated cruise terminal and over 50 cruise ships can be seen coming in and out every year. Close-by is the ferry terminal at Ringaskiddy that heads it's passengers to and from Roscoff in France.


Across from Cobh is the Naval base on Haulbowline Island.


Cobh is full of little hidden gems.


The Titanic memorial can be at the other end of Cobh.

Kilcrea Friary

The beautiful friary was founded in 1465 for the Franciscan Observants by Cormac Laidir Mac Cathaigh, Lord of Muskerry.



The friary is a fine example of an Irish Franciscan monastery and most of it remins in good condition.




Barbary macaques in Gibraltar

On visiting Gibraltar a must was to see the monkeys on the "Rock", these friendly Barbary macaques are one of the main tourist attactions. Take a bus tour into and around the "Rock", you won't miss these beautiful creatures.

La Mare Wine Estate

La Mare Wine Estate and distillery is situated in the beautiful Jersey countryside. It is the perfect venue for a Wedding location and they are registered to hold civil ceremonies.


Set in the beutiful grounds of a traditional 18th century granite farmhouse, this is a 25 Acre working Estate. They make wines, ciders and spirits, also hand-made preserves, fudge, chocolates and Jersey Black Butter.




The guided tour will give you the opportunity to taste the delights. The Estate is open 10am - 5pm to the public 7 days a week from Easter to the end of October and will set you back just under 10 pounds for Adults. The Estate can easily be reached by bus from St. Helier.




If after the tour and tasting you are still hungry and would like to have some more wine or cider, then there is a Restaurant also on the Estate.



Don't be alarmed when the Rooster appears, he welcomes everyone outside of the restaurant, hoping for a light snack.


There is a great playground for the kids, just in case they get bored




Don't forget to enter the shop on the estate to buy the products that you have seen or tasted.

Old Castle at Harbour Point Cork


This little castle can be found at Harbour Point Cork near Carrigrenan.


It would make a wonderful house by the water. 


There is a footpath close by and you can take a walk along the water. 


There is a playground for the kids just next to the small carpark.
