Killarney National Park
Killarney National Park is stretched south and west of the town of Killarney in Co. Kerry. Main point of the National Park for visitors is Muckross House and Gardens, however park has fantastic view of lakes and mountains and there is also other sights, such as Ross castle and Muckross Abbey.
Nearby there is a Torc Waterfall at the base of Torc Mountain. The waterfall is some 70 to 80 feet high and the Owengarriff river which runs and rises in “The Devil’s Punchbowl” on nearby Mangerton mountain. Killarney National Park was designated as a Biosphere Reserve in 1981 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
