Kinsale



Kinsale is probably the most famous village in West Cork. Plenty of history here which you can learn about from local museums, also well-maintained churches. 





Village has high class restaurants, beach, hotels, marina, beautiful green landscapes and forts. It is famous for one of the most important battles in the Irish history – Battle of Kinsale (1601) when Spanish forces arrived in Kinsale. it was a disaster for the Irish and the British forces under Lord Mountjoy defeated the Irish lead by Red Hugh O’Donnell. Nowadays, it is a popular weekend getaway. With no shortage of things to do here while surrounded by beautiful scenery it is hard to question this place uniqueness






Carmelite Friary Church
The Carmelite order have had a presence in Kinsale since the 14th Century. Carmelite Friary Church located at the top of Kinsale village is surrounded by several other constructions it makes a perfect hide away from a busy centre. Constructed in the 19th century. The church was restored by Fr. Lawrence Callanan.
